In a world first, we conceptualised and created the ‘Sound of Shopping’ for eBay – a piece of music that actually helps people shop better.
A ground-breaking piece of qualitative research into how sound affected nearly 2,000 online shoppers identified sounds like pop music, radio, football commentary and people chatting to help shoppers think more rationally about what they are buying, thereby reducing bad purchasing choices.
The sounds were crafted by edgy musician and producer Mistabishi into a ‘Sound of Shopping’ track, set to cutting edge animation and then seeded out.
Press activity was timed to coincide with eBay.co.uk’s 15th anniversary, and gave eBay ownership of ‘shopping’ – a major commercial and reputational goal.
